How is it all going for you?

Most likely its been a whirl of coursework, homework, researching degrees, visiting universities and exploring Degree Apprenticeship options. Phew! Many of you will have decided your top five courses and handed in your Personal Statement to college for review. Well done! If not and you are starting to feel the pressure - how about making it all less stressful with some 1:1 careers tutoring? Has your college deadline for handing in final draft Personal Statements passed yet? How is your PS writing going? Our usual Y13 Guidance sessions help students to

  • Consider all options: we’ll talk about you - a lot! To make sound Uni or apprenticeship decisions, you need to know yourself really well. We’ll spend time figuring out what genuinely interests you, and consider what this could open up for next year.

  • Evaluate Choices: we’ll talk through ideal careers and working environments linked to your interests to check you are researching widely enough. And we’ll talk in depth about the rworld of work to ensure you know what is out there, AI and all.

  • Degree Apprenticeships: If you're considering this pathway, we will talk business, explore available opportunities, organise work experience and give you a chance to try before you buy.

How to come to decisions?

Before deciding your next courses and personal goals, you need to honestly reflect on what the last few hard years of studying have taught you about yourself. Careers tutoring will help you:

  • Reflect on Your Experiences: Consider how the exams went and what they revealed about your preferences and capabilities. Did any new interests or career ideas emerge?
